Food Tumbler

Love this product and brand, however, beware if you are buying for a large beaked bird. I purchased this for my alexandrine parrot and the slot for the parrot to reach in for the food was way too narrow for her phat beak, so she was really frustrated as she had managed to navigate the food into the dispenser but couldn't reach it. I have a dremel so I just used that to widen the slot and it's perfect now. Additionally, mine was EXTREMELY squeaky due to the plastic parts rubbing together, which I solved by unscrewing the rotating part and just brushing a little bit of vaseline on. These minor modifications are what i'm bumping one star off for. If your bird isn't already using something like a foraging wheel, definitely start with that first as this is a more challenging toy. The tube can be twisted out of a locked position and moved up or down to change the difficulty or to remove it for refilling, which is great. The whole rotating part of the toy also comes off the mount, so you only need to mount it once in the cage and then you can clip the rotating part in place at will (ie. whenever you refill it). The design of this and the foraging wheel are really light years beyond where most other parrot toys are and well worth the money. Between these two toys, my parrot never eats pellets from a bowl.

I love this toy, it is a little tricky to set up at first but it actually really easy once see how it works. My bird loves it, he has just started with foraging feeders and this one made him work harder for his food and keeps him happy. It is also really easy to refill and you can easily put a bunch of different stuff in it.

I will preface this by saying I bought this for two rats, not birds. However, I believe this tumbler is a wonderful product for any small pet, avian or otherwise. It fits well onto the cage bars and doesn't wiggle, and is easy to take apart for cleaning. It holds about a cup of food. My inquisitive ratties haven't been able to scratch the plastic with their teeth, so it is quite durable. My only criticism might be that out of the box, the axle was a little squeaky, but a drop of mineral oil fixed that and it hasn't made any noise since. Very satisfied

This toy is fun for my bird who gets bored easily! So many options to fill it with!
